The official opening of our new extension was extremely successful with visitors including past and present pupils of all ages, past head teachers, local residents, governors and staff.
Thank you to everyone who helped to put the event together. There was a timeline depicting the changes to the school building since the early 1900’s, a traditional maypole display, showing children from the school across the years dancing on the village green and a selection of historical documents and photographs to reminisce over.
We were delighted that Mrs Driver and Mrs Peverley, previous headteachers, were able to attend, and also Mrs Carter, the wife of the late Norman Carter the last headmaster to live in the school house.
We have already started to use the new spaces, the older children in particular are making excellent use of the lockers which have been introduced!
SInce the Opening the children have been fascinated by the old photographs and fashions. One child commented after looking at the floor plan of 1957 “Wow, and I thought the school was small now!”
